Former VERVE RECORDS Pres. CHUCK MITCHELL has been tapped as VP of KOCH RECORDS' newly formed Jazz/Adult Division. Based in NEW YORK, MITCHELL will spearhead A&R and marketing efforts for the artists in these genres, including EARL KLUGH, BOB JAMES, JEAN-LUC PONTY, MICHAEL FRANKS, MARCUS MILLER and OLETA ADAMS.
MITCHELL spent six years at VERVE and was Pres. from 1996-99. Most recently he worked as a consultant for a variety of record labels, and he has supervised video/film production for many artists, including JOSS STONE and NORAH JONES.
"Now is the time for us to make a real aggressive move in this area, and there is no better executive than CHUCK to lead the charge," says KOCH Pres. BOB FRANK, to whom MITCHELL reports. "We are thrilled to have him join our crew."
MITCHELL says, "I'm thrilled to be joining BOB FRANK's team at KOCH RECORDS. With artists such as BOB JAMES, EARL KLUGH and MICHAEL FRANKS, a superb foundation has been set to build a winning franchise in jazz and adult music. I'm looking forward to making contributions that will bring KOCH to a leadership position in a consistently challenging market environment."
