Foxy Brown Given A Break By Sympathetic Judge
March 1, 2007 at 3:26 PM (PT)
Rapper FOXY BROWN pleaded guilty to a probation violation today (2/1) for leaving NEW YORK without her probation officer’s permission. BROWN, whose real name is INGA MARCHAND, was arrested in PEMBROKE PINES, FL on FEBRUARY 15 after becoming involved in a dispute with a beauty store owner. Back in OCTOBER 2006, BROWN was sentenced to anger management classes and three years' probation for assaulting two MANHATTAN nail salon employees over a $20 manicure in AUGUST 2004.
Probation officials said that BROWN was never given permission to travel to FLORIDA and wanted her to be incarcerated. Today, MANHATTAN Criminal Court Judge MELISSA JACKSON gave the rapper another chance, allowing her to continue the existing terms of her probation. JACKSON admonished her that if she violates her probation again, she could be sentenced to a full year in prison.
