KBAC/Santa Fe Employees Fighting To Keep Station Local

A group of employees of CLEAR CHANNEL's SANTA FE stations is attempting to raise money to buy AAA KBAC (RADIO FREE SANTA FE)/SANTA FE to keep it from being sold to EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION.
The deal to sell KBAC and Jazz KSFQ to religious operator EMF for $1.5 million was filed FEBRUARY 26, but GM IRA GORDON tells THE NEW MEXICAN that his group has obtained financing from an out-of-state entity to try to keep the eclectic station in local hands. Another group, FRIENDS OF KBAC, has been lobbying with letters to CLEAR CHANNEL and EMF officials to try to convince them not to make the deal and flip KBAC to Contemporary Christian.
