Bivins Named SVP/Urban Promotions At J Records

Veteran promotion executive GEO BIVINS is the new SVP/Urban Promotions at J RECORDS. BIVINS was SVP/Urban Promotions at CAPITOL RECORDS, based at the company’s HOLLYWOOD offices, and was responsible for and helped elevate the careers of artists as FAITH EVANS, CHINGY, CLYDE CARSON, VAN HUNT, JAE HOLIDAY, CHERISH and most recently, MIMS. BIVINS and his family will relocate to NEW YORK.

BIVINS replaces SVP KEN WILSON, who exited today. WILSON had been with the label from its inception and was instrumental in developing the careers of JAMIE FOXX, CASSIDY, ALICIA KEYS, FANTASIA, RUBEN STUDDARD and MARIO, among others.

No official word on BIVINS' replacement at the newly restructured CAPITOL RECORDS.
