FCC FM Auction 70 Wraps, Nets $21 Million

The FCC netted $21,301,175 from bidding in the now-closed FM Broadcast Auction No. 70. The bidding went for 83 rounds over 15 days, with 60 bidders taking 111 permits. ABLE RADIO CORP. bid the most money (net $1.699 million for two provisionally winning bids), followed by GEORGE S. FLINN JR. and COCHISE BROADCASTING. KM COMMUNICATIONS won the most bids (10). The top CP was for a Class C3 facility licensed to AGUILA, AZ (northwest of PHOENIX), which went to ABLE for $1.659 million.
