EMMIS COMMUNICATIONS CORP. Chairman/CEO JEFF SMULYAN is lobbying the INDIANA House against a proposed ban on gay marriages.
SMULYAN's letter to House Speaker B. PATRICK BAUER (D-SOUTH BEND) said that the INDIANAPOLIS-based company believes "the passage of this constitutional amendment will hurt our ability to recruit and retain a diverse workforce, and creates the damaging impression that we are not a welcoming and inclusive community."
A hearing on the amendment is scheduled for TUESDAY, with the state House Rules and Legislative Procedures ready to vote on the matter.
