RADIO BEAM LLC sells AC KSND/WOODBURN-SALEM, OR and its booster in DEPOE BAY, OR to DONALD D. COSS' 94 COUNTRY INC. for $1.7 million. The buyer owns Regional Mexican KWBY-A (LA PANTERA) and Country KCKX-A (COWBOY COUNTRY) in the market and reportedly plans to flip KSND to Regional Mexican.
In other deals filed with the FCC, LEVAS COMMUNICATIONS LLC is selling Religion-Talk WZJY-A (INTEGRITY 1480)/MOUNT PLEASANT-CHARLESTON, SC to THOMAS B. DANIELS for $375,000 cash. DANIELS' JABAR COMMUNICATIONS owns Gospel WJNI (GOSPEL 106.3), Oldies WAZS-A (ROCKET 980), and Regional Mexican WAZS-F (EL SOL) in the market, along with two LPTVs.
PEAK BROADCASTING's previously announced spinoff of Talk KFPT-/CLOVIS-FRESNO to FAT DAWGS 7 BROADCASTING has been formally filed, and the $2.4 million deal includes a format noncompete (prohibiting the buyer from programming Talk but not Sports for three years). FAT DAWGS 7 owns crosstown Sports KFIG-A (1430 ESPN RADIO).
And LIBERTY UNIVERSITY is buying five more FM translators in VIRGINIA, this time from POSITIVE ALTERNATIVE RADIO INC. for $60,000. The four are in WINCHESTER, FREDERICKSBURG, BURLINGTON, and MARION and will rebroadcast LIBERTY's noncommercial WRVL/LYNCHBURG.
