"GEORGE 104," which has been broadcasting commercial-free since its inception the end of JANUARY, will be now be available commercial-free on HD channel 103.5 - 2, an HD side channel of BONNEVILLE’s WTOP. The move comes three months after BONNEVILLE moved Classical WGMS/WASHINGTON from 104.1, providing the classical music format to WETA.
GEORGE 104 -- and before that, WGMS -- had broadcast on 103.9 FM in addition to 104.1 FM, though 103.9 FM is not part of the LMA. The 103.9 FM frequency will be simulcast on WTOP, along with 103.5 FM and 820 AM, through JUNE 27. On JUNE 28, WTOP will be heard completely on FM on 103.5 FM and 103.9 FM. The 820 AM frequency will move to sister station WASHINGTON POST RADIO and will add a third frequency for an improved coverage for that station. The WASHINGTON POST RADIO NETWORK will be 107.7 FM, 1500 AM and 820 AM beginning JUNE 28.
