Veteran CHICAGO radio and TV personality BOB SIROTT joins TRIBUNE Talk WGN-A/CHICAGO to host a weekday noon news magazine as the station brings back its traditional "NOON SHOW" news block. The new noon hour show, debuting APRIL 30, moves JOHN WILLIAMS to 1-4p and STEVE COCHRAN to 4-7p.
"BOB SIROTT is a voice CHICAGOans have known for many years, so it's only fitting that he is joining the Voice of CHICAGO," said VP/GM TOM LANGMYER. "It's truly a pleasure to welcome such a respected and accomplished broadcaster to WGN RADIO."
PD BOB SHOMPER added, "BOB is a terrific broadcaster and lifelong CHICAGOan. His unique blend of experience in news and entertainment makes him special. BOB is CHICAGO."
"RON SANTO must have recommended me for the job because when I was twelve, I sneaked in to the boxes at WRIGLEY and passed Snickers to him in the dugout," joked SIROTT.
SIROTT, who will continue as 4:30p news anchor at crosstown NBC O&O WMAQ-TV, will also host a SUNDAY night show with wife MARIANNE MURCIANO; the couple has been doing a similar show for crosstown CBS Talk WCKG (105.9 FREE FM).
