KILT, Granato Settle Suit, Part Ways
April 30, 2007 at 5:46 AM (PT)
CBS Sports KILT-A/HOUSTON morning co-host JOHN GRANATO and the station have reached a settlement of GRANATO's suit to free himself of a six-month noncompete, and that means GRANATO is exiting the station effective today (4/30), according to the HOUSTON CHRONICLE's DAVID BARRON. GRANATO will not appear on the air today and the settlement terms will remain confidential.
Afternoon host MARC VANDERMEER will fill in for GRANATO alongside LANCE ZIERLEIN in mornings for now, with JOHN MCCLAIN filling in for VANDERMEER alongside RICH LORD for afternoons. Speculation on GRANATO's next stop has focused on crosstown GOW COMMUNICATIONS Ethnic KILE-A, where former KILT GSM RICHARD TOPPER will serve as GM and market chatter has a new "guy talk" format with TALK RADIO NETWORK's MANCOW MULLER in mornings being installed.
