CHERRY CREEK RADIO is buying Talk KPQ-A, Classic Hits KPQ-F (QUAKE 102.1), and Country KWNC-A (REAL COUNTRY 1370)/WENATCHEE, WA from WESCOAST BROADCASTING for an undisclosed price, reports the WENATCHEE WORLD.
CHERRY CREEK President/CEO JOE SCHWARTZ announced the deal in an interview MONDAY on KPQ-A, saying that "for all intents and purposes, effective today [MONDAY], CHERRY CREEK... is operating KPQ." CHERRY CREEK bought five other area stations -- Hot AC KWWW (KW-3), Country KYSN, AC KAAP (APPLE FM 95.5), Classic Rock KZPH (THE ROCK 106.7), and Regional Mexican KWWX-A (LA SUPER ZETA) -- as part of its purchase of 24 stations from FISHER COMMUNICATIONS for $33.3 million last year.
