SONY BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT today announced a series of promotions within its Law Department, naming JENNIFER PARISER Sr. VP/Associate General Counsel, Litigation & Anti-Piracy; WADE LEAK Sr. VP/Associate General Counsel, Ethics & Compliance; and ROSS WESTON Sr. VP/Associate General Counsel, Transactions & Corporate Affairs. All three will continue to report directly to Exec. VP/Global General Counsel & Secretary DANIEL MANDIL.
"ROSS, JENNIFER and WADE are three of the most talented lawyers working in the music business today, and these promotions recognize the many contributions that each of them has made during their tenure with the company," MANDIL said. "I look forward to continuing my work with all three -- as well as with the entire Law Department -- as we continue to provide legal advice and support for the company’s labels and divisions worldwide. It is truly a privilege to work with three such fine legal professionals."
Most recently VP/Litigation, PARISER will be responsible for all litigation and governmental investigations and serve as the Law Department's liaison to the RIAA on issues relating to litigation and piracy. WADE, also previously VP/Litigation, will be responsible for compliance in areas such as radio promotion, online marketing, code of conduct, privacy, parental advisory labeling and records management. WESTON rises from VP/Transactional Practice Group and will oversee the legal aspects of acquisitions and sales of businesses and the formation of U.S. and international joint ventures; he will also continue as Assistant Corporate Secretary.
