Griffith Named Analyst For Illinois Football

Former NFL fullback HOWARD GRIFFITH returns to the UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS as analyst for radio coverage of ILLINI football this FALL. The former RAMS, PANTHERS, and BRONCOS running back, who scored twice for DENVER in SUPER BOWL XXXIII, replaces the retiring JIM GRABOWSKI alongside returning play-by-play voice BRIAN BARNHART starting with the season opener against MISSOURI in ST. LOUIS on SEPTEMBER 1. The ILLINI air on a statewide network that includes WDWS-A/CHAMPAIGN and WIND-A/CHICAGO.
"It's with a great deal of pride and enthusiasm that I join the FIGHTING ILLINI broadcast team, replacing one of the all-time greats, JIM GRABOWSKI," said GRIFFITH. "Naturally, it is very special for me to return to the university that propelled me in my football career. I look forward to the opportunity and to sharing my insight on ILLINOIS football."
