NAB Wants Info About XM, Sirius Rule Violations
May 24, 2007 at 1:29 PM (PT)
The NAB has sent a letter to the FCC in response to XM and SIRIUS' objection to its Freedom of Information Act request for information about the FM modulator and terrestrial repeater controversies, urging the FCC to turn over the records due to a "compelling public interest" in exposing the details of the satellite companies' rule violations. The letter from NAB attorneys DAVID H. SOLOMON and J. WADE LINDSAY says that the merger application "places XM's and SIRIUS's prior rules violations at issue" and trumps any confidentiality interests that might have existed without the merger application.
