WBIG Wants To Give Peas A Chance

Taking a cue from the late JOHN LENNON, CLEAR CHANNEL Oldies WBIG (BIG 100.3)/WASHINGTON’s CHUCK, of "BALLARD ON BIG," is going to bed to raise awareness about a cause near and dear to his heart, hunger. CHUCK will be holding a "Bed-In For Peas" at the MATTRESS DISCOUNTERS store in ROCKVILLE, MD this weekend to raise donations for the CAPITAL AREA FOOD BANK.
His goal is 1,000 non-perishable food items over the course of the weekend. As incentive, he’ll be letting people who donate 50 non-perishable food items, or $100 in cash, to shave part of his head.
If one generous individual donates $1,000 cash, they will get the opportunity to come to the BIG studios and shave CHUCK’s beard, mustache and even his eyebrows live on BALLARD’s show. "Hunger is an issue every day of the year, not just during the holidays," said CHUCK, "My dignity is a small price to pay to help feed people in need."
