CBS CORP. and VIACOM INC. Exec. Chairman SUMNER REDSTONE told CNBC yesterday (6/6) that he has no plans to take the companies private. The statement follows press reports that CBS could be the target of a buyout.
"Could we someday consider other alternatives?" Redstone said. "Yes, but it's not on the horizon."
REDSTONE also said he has no plans to retire. "I'm not going anywhere," he said. "I'm going to be here for a long, long time, so I don't have to plan too intently."
