UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP has appointed PATTY COHEN to the position of VP/Ad Sales, Global Digital Initiatives (GDI), it was announced today by UMG EVP DAVID ELLNER and ANDY SCHUON, President of IMF: THE INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FEED, a 24-hour all-music television network.
"When we launched GDI, I knew that I wanted only the best and brightest on our front lines," stated ELLNER. "And PATTY is certainly that -- her proven track record of success is matched only by her reputation as an innovator and business builder who shares our passion for music. Moreover, her experience in advertising sales will be crucial as we continue to expand this area and create more revenue opportunities for our labels and artists."
"PATTY possesses extensive experience with emerging cable, multicultural and syndicated television organizations and her successful track record of building high-level client relationships will ensure IMF’s continued growth and expansion," commented SCHUON. "She takes a unique approach to developing creative, integrated campaigns that provide companies access to the young adult marketplace they covet."
"UMG is a dream come true, especially with the opportunity to work on IMF, a startup network that is part of an established entity," said COHEN. "This is an opportunity to think outside-the-box and create packages that extend advertisers messages beyond a 30-second spot. With the world and media changing, it is fulfilling to be part of an organization that has such global reach and is not afraid to be creative and try new things that will work for the advertisers, the MSOs and the audience alike."
