Pryor, Stevens, Inouye Sign On To Rockefeller Expletives Bill

Sens. MARK PRYOR (R-OK), TED STEVENS (R-AK), and DANIEL INOUYE (D-AR) have signed on to co-sponsor Sen. JAY ROCKEFELLER's (D-WV) bill to allow the FCC to fine broadcasters for "fleeting expletives." ROCKEFELLER introduded the "Protecting Children From Indecent Programming Act" on THURSDAY (NET NEWS 7/12).
Meanwhile, BROADCASTING AND CABLE's JOHN EGGERTON is reporting on his blog that someone on the Senate staff saved the ROCKEFELLER bill under the name "BLUENOSE.2". Adding to the humor of the situation, since the bill has not yet been assigned an official bill number, EGGERTON notes that the bill's present designation is S----, which, considering its subject matter, is appropriate.
