NAB's Rehr Asks Rangel For House Hearing On Ownership Diversity
July 13, 2007 at 1:28 PM (PT)
NAB Pres./CEO DAVID K. REHR sent a letter TODAY (7/13) to House Ways and Means Committee Chairman CHARLES RANGEL (D-NY) asking for a hearing on increasing ethnic and gender diversity in communications ownership, with emphasis on a minority tax incentive program.
The organization "strongly supports the reinstatement of a tax incentive program that would provide companies tax credits or other benefits if they sell broadcast properties to minorities or women," REHR wrote, noting that Rep. BOBBY RUSH (D-IL) has introduced legislation to that effect in the present Congress.
