Is A Deal Set On Per-Station Caps For Webcasters?
July 16, 2007 at 12:26 PM (PT)
On SATURDAY, the DIGITAL MEDIA ASSN. said it confirmed in a letter to SOUNDEXCHANGE that it would "accept SOUNDEXCHANGE's offer to cap a $500-per-channel minimum fee at $50,000 annually through 2010, for the full length of the term."
However, WIRED.com reports that it was notified by SOUNDEXCHANGE that the announcement was false. SOUNDEXCHANGE spokesman RICHARD ADES said, "[The report] that there is an agreement on the minimum-fee cap for large webcasters is not accurate. There is no agreement yet. The DiMA letter that was conveyed late FRIDAY night and released to the press does not accurately represent the terms offered by SOUNDEXCHANGE."
