Clear Channel Clears Out Of Utica-Rome

CLEAR CHANNEL is checking out of the UTICA-ROME market with deals to sell the nine area stations it owns there -- Classic Hits WOKR (93.5 THE RIVER), Rock WOUR, Top 40 WSKS-WSKU (KISS FM), Hot AC WUMX (MIX 102.5), and Sports simulcast WADR-A/WIXT-A/WRNY-A-WUTQ-A (SPORTS STARS RADIO NETWORK) -- to ED LEVINE's GALAXY COMMUNICATIONS, EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION and KEN ROSER's ROSER COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK for an undisclosed price. In addition, GALAXY is selling its own Classic Rock WRCK in the market to EMF.
KALIL AND CO. is serving as exclusive broker for the CLEAR CHANNEL deal. The KALIL release announcing the deal did not specify which company would be getting which stations from CLEAR CHANNEL.
GALAXY also owns Alternative WKLL (K-ROCK) and Adult Standards WTLB-A in the market, while ROSER also owns Country WBUG-WBGK (BUG COUNTRY), and EMF also owns Contemporary Christian WKVU (K-LOVE).
