WXMY Owner Jailed On Child Sex Charges

The owner of a SALTVILLE, VA radio station was jailed WEDNESDAY and charged with child sex-related charges, according to a news release from the SMYTH COUNTY Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office, and reported by TRICITIES.COM. JEFF RAYNOR, 45, of GLADE SPRING, VA was charged with one count of using electronic communication to solicit sexual activity with a child and one count of possession of child pornography after SMYTH COUNTY Sheriff’s deputies searched his station, Country WXMY.
The news release indicated that SMYTH COUNTY Sheriff’s Detective DOUG HENDERLITE received information about RAYNOR from an Internet child-predator sting conducted by the police department in KEENE, NH. After receiving the tip, SMYTH COUNTY authorities executed a search warrant at the radio station and confiscated evidence, including computer documents.
WXMY is off the air indefinitely.
