Worldspace Q2 Revenues, Subs Drop

WORLDSPACE SATELLITE RADIO says that its international satellite service lost 1,313 customers from first to second quarter, leaving it with 190,333 subscribers worldwide. The largest losses came in SOUTH AFRICA and EUROPE, where the company stopped selling subscriptions while preparing to launch in ITALY.
Revenues fell from $3.8 to $3.6 million year-to-year, with subscription revenue flat at $1.9 million. The company's net loss widened from $36.7 to $51.2 million (98 cents to $1.30/share).
