The Canadian government is replacing BEV ODA as Heritage Minister with Minister for International Cooperation/la Francophonie and Official Languages JOSEE VERNER. ODA, the controversial former CRTC Commissioner, will take VERNER's old post.
VERNER headed Prime Minister STEPHEN HARPER's QUEBEC caucus and was in HARPER's shadow cabinet before her election to Parliament in JANUARY 2006 from a riding in QUEBEC CITY. The Heritage Minister is the cabinet official responsible for, among other things, broadcasting, copyright, and cultural issues.
