McCartney, Gwen, Ozzy To Host BBC Radio 1 Specials

PAUL MCCARTNEY, GWEN STEFANI, and OZZY OSBOURNE head an all-star list of celebrity guests hosting their own special evening shows to celebrate BBC RADIO 1's 40th anniversary. The specials start on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 17th with MCCARTNEY, followed by the FOO FIGHTERS' DAVE GROHL (18th), GWEN STEFANI (19th), PAUL WELLER (20th), PAUL OAKENFOLD (21st), OASIS' NOEL GALLAGHER (24th), DEBBIE HARRY (25th), ARCTIC MONKEYS (26th), OZZY OSBOURNE (27th), and NORMAN "FATBOY SLIM" COOK (28th).
The station is also bringing back some of its former hosts for special appearances on SEPTEMBER 30th, with original morning man TONY BLACKBURN joining CHRIS MOYLES for breakfast, followed by VERNON KAY joined by some of the network's former morning hosts, SARA COX and ZOE BALL in a one-time-only partnership for 1-4p, and JK AND JOEL joined by former chart show hosts MARK GOODIER and BRUNO BROOKES for the weekly chart show. The previously-reported one-night return of ANNIE NIGHTINGALE's REQUEST SHOW will air that day at 7p, followed by a documentary on the station's history and a tribute to JOHN PEEL, "KEEPING IT PEEL," hosted by actor ELIJAH WOOD.
