RADIO ONE, which owns and operates Top 40/Rhythmic WHHH, Urban AC WTLC, Smooth Jazz WYJZ and Black Gospel WTLC-A in INDIANAPOLIS, is being sued by a former employee. According to The INDIANA BUSINESS JOURNAL DENISE REDDING, a former comptroller for the company, alleges she was terminated because she is African-American and because she refused to sign-off on certain financial statements.
REDDING claims RADIO ONE VP/GM CHUCK WILLIAMS misrepresented revenue results. She further claims WILLIAMS, who is Caucasian, treated herself and certain other African-American staff members differently that those who were male and non-black.
RADIO ONE counsel BRANDON SHELTON responded, “There is no merit in MS. REDDING’s allegations and we believe the litigation process will reveal that. “ REDDING is attempting to secure over $80,000 in back pay, other benefits and emotional distress.
