Abernathy Sets Dec. 9 As Date To Leave FCC

FCC Commissioner KATHLEEN ABERNATHY will depart the Commission on DECEMBER 9. ABERNATHY officially resigned in a letter to President BUSH; she had previously indicated her desire to leave earlier this year.
Responding to ABERNATHY's announcement, NAB Pres./CEO EDDIE FRITTS issues a statement saying that "KATHLEEN ABERNATHY has served the FCC and the American people with class and distinction. Her dedication to principle has been matched only by her gracious demeanor and steady professionalism. We wish KATHLEEN only the best."
