Country Artists Support Both Parties

The front page of today's (10/28) SUNDAY TENNESSEAN features an article that goes in-depth in the world of political donations from Country artists. The TENNESSEAN went back through15 years of campaign finances, to look at what candidates the artists supported. It may be a surprise to some that the results look like the rest of AMERICA -- pretty evenly split.
The article was done on the heels of nationwide coverage that JOHN RICH has been campaigning for REPUBLICAN FRED THOMPSON. However his vote's cancelled out by his duo-partner in BIG & RICH, BIG KENNY ALPHIN, who is supporting BARACK OBAMA. They both kicked in $2,300 for their respective candidates.
By the way, the biggest surprise -- the OKIE FROM MUSKOGEE, MERLE HAGGARD -- has gone blue and has even written a campaign song for HILLARY CLINTON.
