WNIC Gets The Holiday Spirit

At 5a this morning it became holiday time at CLEAR CHANNEL AC WNIC/DETROIT, reports THE DETROIT FREE PRESS. WNIC started its annual first-to-Santa-music playlist changeover with BURL IVES’ version of "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" on the station's "Breakfast Club" show with CHRIS EDMONDS, LISA BARRY and DAVE LOCKHART.
PD DON GOSSELIN said that while 60% of about 10,000 who responded to a station web poll wanted Yule music "NOVEMBER 1st or earlier," he will take into consideration the 40% who don’t and ease into it, at least at the beginning. That means not every song on the station will be holiday-oriented for an unspecified period.
GOSSELIN has one big qualifier though: He’ll take it easy as long as any another DETROIT FM station doesn’t take the reins and beat him to all jingle bells, all the time.
