D-Day For Detroit's D&D?

Are DEMINSKI AND DOYLE ready to walk from CBS Sports WXYT-A-F (97.1 THE TICKET)/DETROIT after the DECEMBER 14th show? Contract negotiations have hit a brick wall and the team, which held down afternoons at 97.1 for eight years during several incarnations of the station's Talk format as WKRK, is looking at two more weeks before their tenure with the station ends. Reports in the market peg their last day before vacation, DECEMBER 14, as their swan song at 97.1, but ALL ACCESS hears from a closely-placed source that nothing has been determined for certain, no notice has been given, and the situation remains unresolved with the present contract nearing its end.
D&D, who came to DETROIT from Talk WKXW (NEW JERSEY 101.5)/TRENTON, were one of the market's leading afternoon shows before being moved to mornings when the station's format flipped last month. The show had a substantial jump in extrapolated ratings for its first month in the new time slot. The hosts' present contracts include a one-year non-compete that will keep them off the air if they choose to stay in the market, where their success has raised interest from competing stations.
Look for ENTERCOM Sports KCSP-A (610 SPORTS)/KANSAS CITY host DAMON AMENDOLARA to get a tryout as the station looks for a new morning show.
