Liberman Files To Buy KDES-F/Palm Springs

The paperwork for the sale of Oldies KDES-F/PALM SPRINGS, CA by R & R RADIO CORPORATION to LIBERMAN BROADCASTING's LBI RADIO LICENSE LLC has been filed with the FCC. LBI is paying $10.5 million for the station, which it plans to move into the RIVERSIDE-SAN BERNADINO market. The buyer owns Regional Mexican KRQB (QUE BUENA)/RIVERSIDE as well as Spanish independent KRCA-TV/RIVERSIDE, which serves the LOS ANGELES market (home to six LIBERMAN radio stations).
In other sales filed with the FCC, SALEM is buying Oldies WAMD-A/ABERDEEN, MD from FIRST BROADCASTING for $3 million as part of the plan to help co-channel SALEM Religion WWDJ-A/HACKENSACK, NJ-NEW YORK increase daytime power to 50,000 watts. WAMD has a construction permit to reduce daytime power from 500 to 300 watts.
And CUMBERLAND COMMUNICATIONS, INC. is selling Adult Standards WTLO-A/SOMERSET, KY to F.T.G. BROADCASTING, INC. for $300,000.
