Among the layoffs at CLEAR CHANNEL/LOS ANGELES on FRIDAY were MIKE NOLAN, for over 20 years Talk KFI-A's "Eye in the Sky" traffic reporter, and AIRWATCH AMERICA traffic and news reporters MIKE TAYLOR, BARBARA BROOKS, JIM CURRAN, WALT JACKSON, ALAN LAGREEN, and SHARON REARDON. KFI's news department will assume all news duties for the entire cluster as well as for stations in adjacent markets like SANTA BARBARA and VICTOR VALLEY, while AIRWATCH will handle SALEM's LOS ANGELES stations, AMATURO's Adult Hits KJLL-F (JILL FM) stations, and Classical KDB/SANTA BARBARA. Sister Top 40 KIIS-F traffic reporter COMMANDER CHUCK STREET is one of three remaining airborne traffic reporters for the group.
In addition, longtime AC KOST midday host MIKE SAKELLARIDES was also let go on FRIDAY, and ALL ACCESS hears that Marketing Director JULIE KERTES also exited. As previously reported, KOST morning co-host KIM AMIDON exited THURSDAY, also due to cost cutting at the cluster.
