NEWCAP has received CRTC approval to increase the antenna height of its Country CHNK (HANK FM)/WINNIPEG to 176.1 meters, thus increasing the station's effective radiated power from 1,300 watts to 60,200 watts at a new site. The move was approved due to reception difficulties in parts of the WINNIPEG market.
The Commission also approved UTILITIES CONSUMERS' GROUP SOCIETY's application for a low-power community FM at WHITEHOUSE, YUKON TERRITORY, and approved an application by AMHERST ISLAND RADIO BROADCASTING INC. for a low power community FM at 82.1 FM in STELLA, ON but denied a second application for the same service for 93.7 FM.
