The U.K.'s CHANNEL 4 has sold its 51% interest in digital Talk-Variety station ONEWORD to partner UBC MEDIA for one pound, leading to widespread speculation that the station will be closed. The station has halted regular programming and has pulled down most of the content on its website, replacing it with a message saying, "As you may have read in the press, the future of ONEWORD has been uncertain for some time now. We are carrying out a strategic review which should see a resolution in the New Year."
CHANNEL 4 bought the majority share of ONEWORD for one million pounds in 2005.
