After seven years together, the POVERTYNECK HILLBILLIES have broken up.
"At this time, ABBY (ABBONDANZA), JEFF (VOLEK). JUNIOR (BRYANT) and DAVE (CRAMER) have chosen to stop performing with the band. As with the impending end of any relationship, hurt feelings and frustration may prompt negative statements, rumors or speculation." said band founder CHRIS HIGBEE. "I will be reevaluating the level of commitment required for individuals to continue in the band and will let our fans know once the future of PNH is determined."
The PITTSBURGH band made a name for itself after non-stop touring in the Northeast. For a short time they were signed to RUST RECORDS and nationally released one self-titled album. The band found itself without a record deal after RUST shut down last year (NET NEWS 1/25/07)
