CBS RADIO Oldies OMC/DETROIT icon DICK PURTAN once again teamed with THE SALVATION ARMY for their annual fundraiser benefiting the Bed & Bread Program. Broadcasting from 6a-10p on FRIDAY, FEB. 29th, WOMC listeners and sponsors helped raise $2,310,070 in just 16 hours to feed, shelter, council and rehabilitate DETROIT’s homeless and hungry.
"Once again the incredibly generous people of metro DETROIT have come through," PURTAN said. "The $2,310,070 raised during our 16-hour Oldies WOMC Radiothon for the THE SALVATION ARMY Bed & Bread Program assures that nearly 5,000 people will be fed and more than 500 will be sheltered every day and night for the next 365 days."
Since 1988, the DICK PURTAN Radiothon has raised over $19 million for the Bed and Bread Program.
