CITADEL Country WYAY (EAGLE 106.7)/ATLANTA will flip to TRUE OLDIES 106.7 on MARCH 9th after its broadcast of the NASCAR KOBALT TOOLS 500. It will be the only Oldies station in the market. EAGLE 106.7 had been on the air as a Country station in ATLANTA since 1984. Fans of the station's Country format will soon be able to hear those music selections on the station's HD-2 channel.
WYAY OM MARK RICHARDS said: “Radio listeners in the ATLANTA area searching for their favorite hits from the past have been without a home for far too long, and we’re very pleased to be filling that void. With playlists that include the popular, fun sounds of the ‘60s and ‘70s, we’ll be providing music’s greatest hits to our audience on a daily basis.”
As expected, ABC RADIO syndication star DON IMUS snares his 26th affiliate by debuting on WYAY on MONDAY, MARCH 10th. "We're excited to be adding such a high-profile morning host," RICHARDS said. "IMUS will certainly raises our station profile in the market and bring new listeners to our morning drive slot. With the presidential campaign in full swing, this is a perfect time for us to bring IMUS to our ATLANTA audience."
Previous WYAY morning dudette DALLAS McCADE heads over to CITADEL Country sister WKHX (KICKS 105)/ATLANTA to join CADILLAC JACK's morning show beginning MARCH 10th.
