Grizzle Continues Station Shopping In Georgia

RADIO METTER, INC. sells Southern Gospel daytimer WMCG-A and Classic Hits WBMZ (THE BOOMER)/METTER, GA to HUBERT S. GRIZZLE's GO MEDIA GROUP, LLC for $1.1 million. The sale documentation includes a statement disclosing that the seller's President/Director/majority owner/GM WILLIAM JIMMY PAGE, SR. pleaded nolo contendre to two counts of non-sexual-intercourse child molestation in 1992, but completed a two-year prison term and 10 years of probation and has submitted testimonials from community leaders to support the FCC renewing the station's license and allowing the sale. PAGE has owned the stations since 1978.
GRIZZLE and GO MEDIA GROUP are also buying Country WKUB/BLACKSHEAR, GA and Oldies WWUF (97.7 THE WOLF)/WAYCROSS, GA from MATTOX BROADCASTING, INC. for $2.375 million. GO announced earlier this week that it is buying Gospel WOKA-A (REJOICE 1310 AM) and Country WOKA-F (DIXIE COUNTRY 106.7)/DOUGLAS, GA from COFFEE COUNTY BROADCASTERS, INC. for $4 million.
In another deal filed at the FCC, CARPENTER'S HOME CHURCH, INC. is selling Talk WTWB-A/AUBURNDALE-LAKELAND, FL to EDWARD OLIVARES' LA RAZA MEDIA GROUP for $385,000.
BAY BROADCASTING COMPANY INC. is assigning Religion KAKN (VICTORY RADIO)/NAKNEK, AK and two FM translators in EGEGIK and MANOKOTAK to ASSOCIATION OF FREE LUTHERAN CONGREGATIONS MISSION CORP. as a gift for no consideration.
