Beatles Associate Neil Aspinall Dies At 66

NEIL ASPINALL, former CEO of the BEATLES' APPLE CORPS company, died this weekend at MEMORIAL-SLOAN LETTERING MEDICAL CENTER in NEW YORK at 66, according to a statement from the company, surviving members PAUL MCCARTNEY and RINGO STARR, and the widows of JOHN LENNON and GEORGE HARRISON. ASPINALL was the BEATLES' first road manager and later personal assistant, then ascended to the head of APPLE CORPS LTD. from 1970 through last year.
The band's statement said, "All his friends and loved ones will greatly miss him, but will always retain the fondest memories of a great man."
STARR, in his own statement, added, ""I've known NEIL many years and he was a good friend. We were blessed to have him in our lives and he will be missed."
