CBS Talk KLSX (97.1 FREE FM)/LOS ANGELES evening "CONWAY AND WHITMAN" co-host BRIAN WHITMAN has exited the show. WHITMAN, who has hosted his own shows on KABC-A/LOS ANGELES and WABC-A/NEW YORK, has been with the station for three years and replaced DOUG STECKLER as CONWAY's co-host. CONWAY will continue in the time slot accompanied by guest co-hosts.
"We look forward to the new direction of the night show, and anticipate continued accomplishment," said VP/Programming JACK SILVER. "We plan on utilizing our huge rolodex to give CONWAY plenty of friends to have on air on a nightly basis." Among the co-hosts likely to be involved are midday host DANNY BONADUCE, station veteran SAM PHILLIPS and ARSENIO HALL.
KLSX is also moving TOM LEYKIS" weekend "THE TASTING ROOM" from SUNDAY nights up to 5p PT SUNDAYS and is bringing back the syndicated "SPEED FREAKS" show hosted by KENNY SARGENT for SUNDAY nights at 7p PT.
Station Goes Green For April
In addition, KLSX says that it's going "green" for the month of APRIL, dedicating the period as "EARTH MONTH" and offering "green" promotions, programming, and information. Events will include a screening of the documentary "Who Killed the Electric Car?" with director CHRIS PAINE at the PACIFIC DESIGN CENTER in WEST HOLLYWOOD on APRIL 23rd.
VP/GM BOB MOORE said that he is "excited that we have the opportunity to provide information to our listeners on ways they can help our planet. Everyone wants to do something to help, we just want to make it easier for our listeners by giving them ideas that are simple and painless."
