Virginia Broadcaster Gets Three Years In Child Porn Case

Former MOUNTAIN VIEW COMMUNICATIONS Talk daytimer WHEO-A/STUART, VA owner and News Director JAMIE THOMAS CLARK will serve three years in prison after his conviction on child pornography charges.
CLARK was convicted in MARCH under an "ALFORD Plea" that maintained his innocence but did not contest the charges; he was charged with possessing child pornography on his computer and in e-mail and on videotapes and allegedly allowed two teens to come to his house and have sex, taking pictures with his camera while he was in another room of the house. CLARK allegedly found the pictures but did not destroy them, copying them to his hard drive and e-mailing them to himself and another person.
PATRICK COUNTY Circuit Court Judge MARTIN CLARK sentenced JAMIE CLARK to 25 years in prison, all but three suspended, a sentence harsher than state sentencing guidelines, citing the defendant's interview with a probation officer in which he appeared to blame the teenagers rather than take responsibility himself.
CLARK recently sold WHEO to PATRICK COUNTY COMMUNICATIONS, L.L.C. for $150,000. The station has flipped back to Country from Talk.
