Minor league baseball's NEW HAMPSHIRE FISHER CATS have inked a renewal to stay on CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WGIR-A/MANCHESTER, NH for an additional year on top of the two remaining on their contract, keeping the CATS on the station through 2010. In addition to existing simulcast affiliates WGIN-A/ROCHESTER, NH and WGIP-A/EXETER, NH, the team's network is adding GREAT EASTERN Talk WTSL-A/HANOVER for all 142 games and GREAT EASTERN's new Rock WKKN (101.9 K-ROCK)/KEENE for select games. BOB LIPMAN and MIKE MURPHY continue as the radio voices of the CATS.
"We had a terrific first season working as the FISHER CATS' broadcast partner and are happy to announce the extension of WGIR as the flagship station of the FISHER CATS Radio Network through 2010," said CLEAR CHANNEL Vice President and General Manager JOE GRAHAM. "CLEAR CHANNEL and the FISHER CATS share the same long-standing commitment of serving the community, and we look forward to continuing to work toward this goal together."
"We are excited to create this partnership with the FISHER CATS, so we can supply our UPPER VALLEY and KEENE listeners with the chance to follow the team all season long," said GREAT EASTERN RADIO Owner COURTNEY GALLUZZO. "WTSL-AM has a longtime tradition of covering local sports, and the FISHER CATS fit in perfectly with that format. And we, like the FISHER CATS, are excited about establishing our identity with the brand new WKKN-FM in KEENE."
