CMA Fest Adds Culinary Events

The CMA MUSIC FESTIVAL this year is hosting a BBQ Championship and a Grilling Challenge. The festival will be held in NASHVILLE from JUNE 5th through 8th in DOWNTOWN NASHVILLE, the 37th year for the event, originally known as FAN FAIR.
The CMA Music Festival BBQ Championship will be held SATURDAY and SUNDAY, JUNE 7th and 8th, in the CHEVY SPORTS ZONE, located in the parking lot behind the SOMMET CENTER at Demonbreun Street and Fifth Avenue. Teams from across the nation will compete in four categories (pork ribs, pork shoulder, beef brisket and chicken) for a chance to win a share of more than $17,000 in cash and prizes. The Grand Champion of the CMA Music Festival BBQ Championship will receive $2,500, a CMA AWARDS trip package for two.
Debuting this year will be the Fiesta Celebrity Grilling Challenge on SATURDAY (06/08) in the CHEVY SPORTS ZONE. For this event six artists and celebrities, including MEL TILLIS will be paired with six professional chefs in a culinary competition.
