SIRE RECORDS Pres. MICHAEL GOLDSTONE is leaving to join Q PRIME, where he will oversee the launch of an independent label for the management company. He will also be involved in recruiting artists for management representation.
GOLDSTONE boasts 30 years in the business, starting in publicity at CHRYSALIS RECORDS before moving into artist development and A&R at MCA (where he signed CHARLIE SEXTON, among others); POLYGRAM (where he signed MOTHER LOVE BONE until singer ANDREW WOOD's demise); and EPIC (where he signed MLB survivors and their new singer EDDIE VEDDER, who became PEARL JAM, as well as RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE).
He left to be a partner in DREAMWORKS RECORDS (ALL-AMERICAN REJECTS, BUCKCHERRY, NELLY FORTADO, PAPA ROACH); and most recently he worked with founder SEYMOUR STEIN on the rejuvenation of SIRE RECORDS (REGINA SPEKTOR, AGAINST ME!, HIM).
