Pappas Files Chapter 11 For 13 TV Stations

PAPPAS TELECASTING, affiliated with the owner of Talk KTRB-A/SAN FRANCISCO and KMPH-A/FRESNO, has filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy for 13 of its TV stations but not for the radio stations or 14 other TV properties. The company cited refinancing problems with eleven of its non-bank lenders for the action.
The stations affected by the filing include the company's FOX affiliates KMPH-TV/FRESNO, KPTM-TV/OMAHA, and KPTH-TV/SIOUX CITY; CW affiliates KFRE-TV/FRESNO, KXVO-TV/OMAHA, WCWG-TV/GREENSBORO, KREN-TV/RENO, and KCWK-TV/YAKIMA-TRI-CITIES; CBS affiliate KDBC-TV/EL PASO; and TUVISION affiliates KTNC-TV/SAN FRANCISCO, KAZH-TV/HOUSTON, and KAZR-TV/RENO.
