FRIEDMAN,who had been serving as VP/News Talk & Sports for the company's Online Music and Radio division, exited CLEAR CHANNEL on MAY 12th to join TRIBUNE, and CLEAR CHANNEL filed suit MONDAY, seeking a temporary injunction to block FRIEDMAN's move before the expiration of his CLEAR CHANNEL contract, which it claims runs through DECEMBER 31st.
"CLEAR CHANNEL will not tolerate the TRIBUNE's interference with valuable business contracts belonging to our company and intends to pursue all legal remedies available to put a stop to it," CLEAR CHANNEL EVP/Chief Legal Office ANDY LEVIN said.
