CLEAR CHANNEL Country WSIX (THE BIG 98)/NASHVILLE PD KEITH KAUFMAN checks in with ALL ACCESS to report that this year's St. JUDE DREAM HOME GIVEAWAY ticket sales raised a total of $1.6 million for the kids at St. JUDE CHILDREN'S RESEARCH HOSPITAL. WSIX afternoon duo BIG D & BUBBA sold 400 tickets in four hours last week (NET NEWS 6/17), and they appeared live on FOX 17-TV/NASHVILLE last night (6/22) to sell the last of the tickets and to announce the lucky winners.
DAVID and JULIE TARRENTS of CLARKSVILLE, TN won the 3,800 square-foot "dream home" that has 4 bedrooms, 3 1/2 bathrooms, a bonus room, formal dining room, study, family room and breakfast area. The house is located in FRANKLIN, TN, near NASHVILLE.
KAUFMAN said: "It's an awesome feeling. Everybody here is on Cloud 9(8) today. To think that when we ask our audience to send us their money for two days during radiothon to help the kids and the respond by sending over $417,000. Then we ask them to spend $100 on a raffle ticket and 16,000 do it, it's mind boggling. We started the DREAM HOUSE promotion 4 years ago with St. JUDE. To date our listeners have bought 52,000 tickets at $100 totaling $5.2 Million. Amazing!"
