Universal Signs New Disney Deal

UNIVERSAL has extended its relationship with DISNEY MUSIC GROUP, striking an international licensing agreement for the ASIAN market, excluding JAPAN, writes MUSICWEEK.COM. Under the new deal, UMG will market and distribute the HOLLYWOOD RECORDS and WALT DISNEY RECORDS roster of artists, as well as their catalogues. The pact takes immediate effect and covers both digital and physical rights.

UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP has an existing international licensing deal with DISNEY for SOUTH AMERICA and CANADA, as well as a distribution arrangement in the U.S.
