CITADEL Talk KABC-A/LOS ANGELES along with "Real Sports Heroes" and AMERICAN AIRLINES, has partnered with three BOYS AND GIRLS CLUBS OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA in a essay competition which focuses on mentoring, heroes and friendship. Staff members from the PASADENA, VENICE and HOLLYWOOD Clubs have also written about children who excel at being good role models to one another.
The essay contest culminates on FRIDAY, JUNE 27th, when 300 children and their mentors will be enjoying DISNEY/PIXAR' s newest film, WALL*E. Before the screening, a presentation will take place in which the winners of the essay contest (one child and one staff member from each location) will receive two (2) round trip coach tickets for domestic travel and a family pack of four tickets to see the LOS ANGELES DODGERS.
"790 KABC is proud to join forces with ‘Real Sports Heroes’ and AMERICAN AIRLINES in a venture which acknowledges the accomplishments of the Club’s boys and girls and the staff that inspires them," KABC Community Relations Dir. NELKANE BENTON said.
"Real Sports Heroes with ROSS PORTER" recognizes men and women of the sports world who are true humanitarians by highlighting their efforts to make a worthwhile difference during the 90-second programming vignette. You can hear on www.realsportsheroes.com.
