Morning star ELVIS DURAN, super-agent DAVID KATZ and CLEAR CHANNEL-NEW YORK and WHTZ (Z100)/NEW YORK SVP/Programming & Marketing TOM POLEMAN are pooling their talents to form a new corporation to help spread syndication of DURAN's morning show. THE ELVIS DURAN GROUP is a multi-platform company producing content for radio, television and other entertainment mediums, including cable TV, networks, Internet companies and emerging technologies.
"Our mission is to expand the strong brand of ELVIS DURAN, as well as to aggressively seek out growth opportunities amidst new technologies," KATZ said. "ELVIS’ ability to reach listeners, especially women, is unmatched in radio today and we plan to create programming, talent and events which will appeal to this vastly underserved, thriving and fiercely loyal audience."
"The initial nucleus of this venture is obviously ELVIS’ radio show, which is on the brink of explosion," POLEMAN stated. "Never before has a show been so dominant across so many demos in both diary and PPM. ELVIS has long been Z100’s ratings anchor. I'm excited to work with other programmers on making ELVIS’ show an integral part of their stations. I'm also looking forward to collaborating with ELVIS and
DAVID on content development for other mediums."
Throughout my 30 years in radio, I have never been so excited," DURAN said. "I am so proud to be partnered with DAVID and TOM. As my agent for 14 years, DAVID has navigated my career through an often volatile industry, helping to bring about this very special moment. And TOM POLEMAN is simply the smartest radio programmer in the industry. Together, we are going to elevate, and help change the way radio is perceived along with every aspect of the entertainment business."
